SPECIAL BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING – June 25, 2015

 

Board President, Ranee Seastrom, called the special meeting of the Board of Education of Mission Valley USD #330 to order at 7:00 p.m. in the board conference room in Eskridge, Kansas.  Board members present were Clinton Lambotte, Jim Browning, Brian Rindt and Rex Kraus.  Jim Rudeen and Jon Deters were absent. The superintendent, deputy board clerk and board clerk also attended.

 

Brian Rindt moved, seconded by Rex Kraus, to approve the agenda as presented.   Motion passed 5 to 0.

 

Superintendent, Braden Anshutz was recognized by the Board for his past service as superintendent and administrator.

 

Information was provided regarding student insurance, which will be included in back to school packets and available for parents to purchase.

 

Rex Kraus moved, seconded by Brian Rindt, to approve warrants in the amount of $68,468.26 and final year-end transfers from the general and supplemental general funds to the following funds:  $372,684.66 to special education, $101,921.17 to capital outlay (from transportation for bus and vehicle purchases) and approximately $2,734.17 to capital outlay.  Motion passed 5 to 0.

 

Ranee Seastrom moved, seconded by Rex Kraus, to go into executive session at 7:09 p.m. to discuss personnel matters of non-elected personnel in order to protect the privacy interests of the individuals to be discussed, and that they return to open session in the same room at 7:14 p.m.  Motion passed 5 to 0.  The superintendent, Bill Clark, Brett Fenton and Charlie Chesmore also attended. 

 

The meeting reconvened in open session at 7:14 p.m.

 

Ranee Seastrom moved, seconded by Rex Kraus, to approve the following personnel actions as presented and recommended: approval of Charlie Golder as the Biology teacher for the 2015-16 school year.  Motion passed 5 to 0.

 

Brian Rindt moved, seconded by Rex Kraus, to adjourn the meeting.  Motion passed 5 to 0.  The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
