Kindergarten Screening and Round-Up

posted Feb 27, 2017, 12:34 PM by Jeannie Browning
The Kindergarten Screening will be held Friday, March 31st, 2017 at Mission Valley Elementary. The screening will be used as an informational tool to assist both parents and teachers in determining your child’s readiness for Kindergarten. The screening results will be used to show areas of strength and areas of needed improvement in order for your child to be successful upon entering Kindergarten. Any child planning on entering Kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year should plan on attending this screening. The screening will take approximately 30 minutes and parents are encouraged to stay and observe. Vision and hearing screenings will also be available that day. Please call the Mission Valley Elementary office at 866-557-6686 to reserve your time slot.

The Kindergarten Round-Up will be Wednesday, April 12th, at Mission Valley Elementary. We will have a morning session and an afternoon session. The morning session will begin at 9:00 am and last until approximately 11:00 am. The afternoon session will begin at 1:30 pm and last until approximately 3:30 pm. During this time, your child will participate in a typical Kindergarten activity. At the same time, parents will receive information about the school and meet with school officials. Following that, you and your child will have an opportunity to take a tour of the school, go on a short bus ride and enjoy refreshments. The refreshment time will also be used to talk one-on-one about your child’s screening results. For questions and to reserve your time slots for the screening and the roundup, please call 866-557-6686.
