Dates for Driver’s Education 2017 –
There will be a formal parent/driver meeting Wednesday, April 5th at 6:30p.m. in the high school commons. THIS IS A CRITICAL MEETING SO PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND! We will go over the class requirements/expectations, fill out the DE99 forms for the State, and hopefully sign up for summer driving time. Again, VERY CRITICAL you all attend!

 Classroom instruction begins Friday, May 19 and ends Friday, June 2 (No Class on Monday, May 29 due to Memorial Day)

 Driving groups will run from May 19 –June 30 (or longer if needed)

 Cost - $125.00 which includes two days of Defensive Driving instruction. (If possible, please pay fee on night of meeting or no later than May 5) If you have any question email Mr. Konda at tkonda@mv330.org or call 866-557-6686 (work) 785-845-2169 (cell)

The Mission Valley Drivers Education program will start on Friday, May 19th and hopefully be completed by June 30, depending on how many students are enrolled. However, this can and will be extended if I feel some of the students need more driving time. The fee for this program is $125.00, which includes the Driving Improvement Program (DIP) portion. Due to the fact that I have to file and pay for each student’s DE99 forms before class starts, this fee is NON-REFUNDABLE. I will try to minimize the inconvenience of parents getting students here to drive, however this may not always be possible. Parents and students need to remember that this class has a very strict timetable and regulated by the State of Kansas. Once a student has enrolled, this class takes priority over vacations, sports camps, 4H, church camps, etc… I will do everything I can to work with each and every student but I simply might not be able to in every case. In return, I ask that you adhere to the schedule unless an emergency!!! We will meet in the classroom for 10 days and most students could finish their driving in 4-5 days depending on the driving skills of that individual. If a student needs more time to drive, I will try to get them completed before the end of June. The last two days of classroom instruction will be the DIP Driving Improvement Course. These final two days will also be open to any Mission Valley Student or adult wanting to take the course for a cost of $20.00. There are certain expectations that I expect out of the students in the classroom and driving that, as the instructor, I have to meet for state requirements. It is very important that each student is devoted to the program and remember that this is a pass/fail class. I insist upon mature responsibility in taking this course due to its nature. I can and will remove any student whose behavior I determine to be incompatible with safe and conducive learning. The course fee is NON-REFUNDABLE. All classroom work will be done in my room and groups will begin driving in the afternoons. All students will spend their first day of driving on the “range” (school parking lot) in order for me to assess their skills and to complete the basics.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at the school at 866-557-6686; my cell 785-845-2169, or email me at tkonda@mv330.org.

Sincerely, Mr. Konda
