The 1st Quarter of the year has flown by already. We have continued to work through various new obstacles thrown at us related to the pandemic. Teachers, staff, and students are doing a great job of keeping the school safe, open, and productive.
Homecoming Spirit Week Banner Champion: Senior class incorporated all the mascots from Dover, Harveyville, and Eskridge in their “Retro” Design. This showed our great school and community spirit!
1st Quarter GPA Reward Program. We will recognize students who earned a 3.00-4.00 GPA during the 1st Quarter. These students will be receiving recognition at school and receive Homework Passes to be used during the 2nd Quarter.
Our FFA Chapter did their first clean-up at Lake Wabaunsee. Concerned citizens reached out to our administration team for support and our FFA students and sponsors made it happen.
Our new Parent-Teacher Conference model went well for the first semester. Seniors created a presentation for their parents while 7th-11th Grades conducted student-led conferences defending their grades, and progress at school to this point. Key topics were discussed to guide the students until 2nd Semester Conferences take place. Our Viking Hour Career/College Readiness Advisors did a fantastic job adopting these new procedures and we will continue to improve them as we go.
Thank you to the community for your continued support of our building this school year. I am truly honored to be a part of this school and work alongside our staff and students. I look forward to meeting everyone and finding ways to better serve our Mission Valley community!
