MESSAGE FROM MRS. AMY JOHNSTON, PRINCIPAL

School Day at the K was a success! The weather was great! Transportation went smooth (thank you Mary, Kane & drivers)!

Lunch was transported easily (thank you Kathy)! Students were where they needed to be when they were supposed to be there (thank you staff)!

At the end of the day, all the hard work and organization was worth it to see the smiles on the faces of our students and families. Just under 500 students, staff and patrons drove to Kauffman stadium for a Weather Show, tailgate lunch with yard games, and to watch the Royals.

While we did have 31 students return after opening pitch to catch their regular bus home, most of us stayed through most of the game before returning to MV. It was a great day to make a memory!

INFO FROM THE OFFICE

● Students brought to school at the start of the school day must be dropped off at the Northeast end of building. Students may enter the building at 7:45 a.m.

● School dismisses at 3:30 p.m. All car riders are to picked up at the North end of the building (an adult will be there to supervise.) Elementary students are not to be walking in or across the parking lot unless escorted by an adult.

● ATTENTION! 3rd-6th grade students have the opportunity to purchase an extra entree at lunch this year. This is in addition to their meal (for example, two pieces of pizza instead of one.) The cost is $1.75 and money must be in their lunch account prior to ordering. Please talk this over with your student before they sign up. Your student may also pick up an extra milk with their lunch (the first milk comes with the meal). The cost is .50.

● Currently, meals are planned one week at a time, so continue to check Nutrislice for updates. Menus will not be sent home. Thank you.
