On Thursday, March 3rd, these students represented Mission Valley at the Kansas Job Olympics in Manhattan. Job Olympics is a competition developed to promote transition and employability skills for a broad spectrum of high school students.
The Kansas Job Olympics brings together students from 40 different schools throughout the area. Competitions representing actual job and employment situations are judged by business people from the community and professionals in education.
These Viking students brought back several medals from the event:
(Eric Keel- 1st in Facing Shelves, 1st in Making Change, and 1st in Host/Hostess)
(Doug Ross--1st in Job Interview, 2nd in Stocking)
(Talia Lira - 3rd in Stuffing/Labeling envelopes)
(Scott Bayless - 3rd in Job Interview)
(Jake Rockey was not old enough to compete, however he did receive an award for his awesome display of teamwork and support for those competing)
The students were supported by Mission Valley staff (Teacher---Kasi Kraus, and paraprofessionals Bobbi Bruner, Andi O'Byrne, Joe Carson). Special thanks to our school psychologist--Katie Burnett for arranging this awesome opportunity.
Come support the Lady Vikings tonight as they play in the Sub-State Championship game at Lyndon HS beginning @ 5:30 PM. The #2 Vikings will play #1 Northern Heights, with the winner earning a trip to State next week at KSU’s Bramlage Coliseum! Good Luck Lady Vikings!
Sub-State Update: MV Girls will play on Thursday vs Central Heights @ 7:30pm at Lyndon High School.
MV Boys will play on Friday vs Chase County @ 6:00pm at Lyndon High School.
Championship games will be played Saturday evening at Lyndon HS. GO VIKINGS!

Mission Valley Elementary will be hosting a Family Fun Night on March 8 from 6:00-8:00 pm. There will be Pizza provided by MV PTO as well as games and activities. Everyone is invited. We hope to see you there!
Congratulations to our HS Girls Basketball Team on their Sub-State win last night. They advance and will play at Lyndon on Thursday.
Boys play tonight at MV at 7:00 pm. Remember since this is KSHSAA sponsored there are no passes, everyone has to pay. Adults are $7.00 and PreK-12 students are $5.00.
