Congratulations to our 2025-2026 spirit squads!

Congratulations to Maddie Kraus on being one of KSHSAA Covered's 2-1A softball players to watch!
A unanimous first-team All-Flint Hills League selection who also earned second-team All-Class 2-1A honors last year, Kraus was a force in the Vikings’ lineup last year as a sophomore. She tied for the team high in home runs with three along with fellow sophomore Kaitlyn Coursen and was one of five Vikings with at least 20 RBI, driving in 23. Her .373 average ranked third on the team. The Vikings return every player from last season’s team.

Congratulations to Kyplee Jacobson on being one of KSHSAA Covered's 2-1A softball players to watch!
Jacobson is a four-year starter for the Vikings at catcher and helped the program capture the Class 2-1A state championship in 2022 as a freshman when the Vikings went 23-2. She’s led the Vikings to the regional championship game each of the past two seasons, earning first-team All-Flint Hills League honors each year. Last year, she was a first-team All-Class 2-1A selection as well after hitting a team-high 439 with 2 home runs and 26 RBI.

Congratulations to Porter Deters on being one of KSHSAA Covered's 2-1A baseball players to watch.
There’s nothing more that Vikings head coach Darin Godfrey loves than to put pressure on opposing teams on the basepaths and Deters is the main agitator. The senior shortstop set a state record last season with 64 stolen bases, easily topping the previous record of 53 held by – Deters during his sophomore season. His 139 career stolen bases are also a state record. Of course to steal bases you have to get on, which Deters did at a high rate, hitting .614. He also drove in 32 runs last year. For his career, Deters is hitting .505 and has just 17 strikeouts in 275 plate appearances. He was first-team All-Flint Hills League and first-team All-Class 2-1A last season.

Congratulations to Bryce Bunger on being one of KSHSAA Covered's 2-1A baseball players to watch!
While teammate Porter Deters was breaking his own stolen base record last year, Bunger was somewhat quietly racking up his fair share of steals a year ago as a sophomore starter for the Vikings. He pilfered 34 bases while hitting .427 and driving in 27 runs as well on his way to first-team All-Flint Hills League honors. Bunger, who plays centerfield and pitches, will move to the top of the batting order this season.

Congratulations to Hemi Duehring on being one of KSHSAA Covered's players to watch in soccer!
Duehring was a key part of a Cair Paravel defense that allowed just one goal per game last year and finished the season with nine shutouts. Only three of those goals allowed came in the postseason as the Lions reached the Class 4-1A state championship match for the first time in program history, settling for second after a heartbreaking 1-0 double-overtime loss to Bishop Miege in the finals. Duehring was a first-team All-Kaw Valley Conference selection and had two goals and one assist last season.

Today our HS track team travels to Osage City.
