Mission Valley Elementary invites you to join us for a special day just for incoming Kindergarten students and their parents! While you're here, we’ll get your Kindergartner enrolled as well. When: Tuesday, August 4th 9-11 AM or 1-3 PM (your choice) Where: Mission Valley Elementary Who: Students entering Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year and their parents/guardians Bring: *Only needed if new to our school. Please understand that the document does not go into detail regarding each individual class, area of schools, etc... but is rather an all encompassing plan of that provides procedures to be followed and to which make decisions from for areas and scenarios not specified. This document is a working document that may need to be modified to follow guidance from local, county, state, and federal decision makers and to meet the needs of USD 330 Mission Valley students, families, staff and patrons if warranted. Reminder: 'Summer Weights & Conditioning' will resume this Monday morning (7-13). We MUST do a better job of Social Distancing and we have asked our coaches to be more proactive in keeping our students 6 ft. apart (athletes MUST take responsibility as well) . Wabaunsee county is not currently requiring the use of masks but please feel free to have your child wear one, as that will help when social distancing is more difficult. We hope to see you all in the weight room on Monday!

The FCCLA Virtual National Leadership Conference wrapped up today and the results are in! We are excited to announce that ALL five of our STAR Event Qualifiers received GOLD and placed in the top 10 of all competitors in their respective categories across the country!! 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 Sydney—8th in the Nation, Sustainability Challenge Kiki & Paige—6th in the Nation, Promote & Publicize FCCLA Gabi—4th in the Nation, Job Interview Megan—1st in the Nation, National Programs in Action Karlyn made the first cut to be in the top 20 candidates for national officer. While she wasn’t elected in the final round to serve this year, we are still so proud to have her represent our chapter and our state. She will continue her year as a Kansas State Officer and plans to run for nationals again next summer. ❤

We have made the decision to cancel all sports related (KSHSAA) activities at the school next week. We are going to take (1) week off to evaluate how we are operating, discuss any changes or modifications that we want to do, monitor the health and wellness of students as they return from July 4th weekend, etc... This decision is NOT due to any student or staff testing positive or being exposed to anyone with COVID-19. In addition, the basketball coaches have cancelled their summer workouts with their players for the remainder of the summer. The decision to cancel basketball workouts was made by the coaches and was highly supported by administration. I greatly appreciate their decision. We will continue as planned with Drivers Education and Extended School Year services for students with significant disabilities. We will follow the guidance from Wabaunsee County Health Department regarding maintaining 6 ft distance and if 6 ft distance can not be maintained then staff will wear masks. In addition we will also stress handwashing, sanitization, etc.

Mission Valley will be holding an Early Childhood Screening on July 14 & 15, 2020 ● Early Childhood Screenings will be conducted for children ages 3-5 who reside in the district. PARKING LOT UPDATE: The North end of parking lot (concrete) will be accessible but you must enter & leave on west side, by way of Bodark Rd. The EAST lot will be closed. Thanks.

The main parking lot will be resurfaced this week. Parking is OFF LIMITS!!! Please have kids park along Bodark Rd. or in the football parking lot beginning tomorrow morning. Thank You!
