Former USA Olympic Bobsledder and motivational speaker, Chip Minton, entertained students in grades 5-8 at a special assembly on 10-2-18. Chip shared his personal story and pro career.

Congratulations to our Cross Country runners last week at Council Grove. It was a great time to run, the weather was beautiful! AJ Rubio took 2nd place in the Middle School race and Gabe Willard set a new PR by taking over 4 minutes off his previous PR from the week before! Great Job Vikings!!!

FFA Turkey Shoots will be held on the four
Sunday's in October, (7, 14, 21 & 28) from 1-3 pm. Sign up begins at 12:45. If you attend all four Sunday's you will be entered into a $50.00 drawing.
All proceeds go to the travel and expenses for the National ENR team, The National Marketing team, the Agriscience Fair, the Novice Parlaw teams and the National Finalist to compete at the National FFA Convention.

There will be a Bike Rodeo (bring your bikes), blood pressure checks, car seat checks, First Responders, Fred the Preparedness Dog, and Free bike helmets will be given out. And, if you would like, wear your Halloween Costumes.

The PTO Walk-A-Thon is scheduled for Friday, October 5th, for PreK-6th graders.
Pre-K – 2 nd grade will walk from 1:30 – 2:15pm
3 rd grade – 6 th grade will walk from 2:25 – 3:10pm.
Money from this event will pay for academic, athletic, and fun opportunities at Mission Valley.
Last year they raised over $4,000 and would like to beat that goal this year! So, this year if you would like to join in by either supporting a child who walks or walking along, your support would be greatly appreciated! All money needs to be turned in to the office by October 3rd. If you don't have anyone to support and would like to donate, please specify that in your donation. Thank you! #Go Vikes!

We are scheduling 5 min appointments with all parents to meet with your student’s advisor and then parents can meet with individual teachers. 5 min advisor conferences are on the hour and 1/2 hour.
