Emma Slade placed first in shot put and discus at the Flint Hills League Track Meet. She won the discus with a new PR and school record 144’1”.

MV hosted its Military and Service Career Appreciation Day today. It was a great success as the students got to interact w/all the service organizations on-site to explore the careers that each have, as well as getting hands-on with each piece of equipment to learn more about those job's functions. The students got to have 'bucket' rides w/Evergy as well as climb all over the equipment that was on-site (to include the CH47 Chinook helicopter!). MV wants to thank all of the organizations that made this event the success that it was. Viking Family----As we know Summer Break is just around the corner. Viking students and families will be busy with all types of activities but there will be times when people are at home. One question for families, especially those with younger children, is "How do I know if my child is ready to be home alone?". Here is some information to help guide your decision.
Have a wonderful summer----Be Safe---GO VIKINGS!

Viking Family----It is always exciting when we have visitors to the school who are "Great Friends of Education". On Tuesday, Senator Brenda Dietrich stopped by on her tour of schools to meet with students, staff and to get a look at all the wonderful facility projects at Mission Valley. Senator Dietrich even took home a little gift from the Mission Valley Greenhouse for her garden.
