To follow up with the new physical form, The Community Care Ministry is offering FREE Sports Physical at Mission Valley during the school day on Monday, May 3rd for the 2021-2022 school year. If your child is interested please sign up for a time in the High School Office and pick up the Sports Physical Packet. Parents MUST sign and return documentation prior to the thier sports physical. Sign up is due by Friday, April 30th. If you have any questions please contact Mr. Hasenback, Mr. Wild, or Mary Masilionis.

Washburn Tech Summer Camp-Middle School Summer Camp will be 6/7-6/10 for 7th & 8th graders. High School Summer Camp will be 6/14-6/17 for 9th & 10th graders. Summer Camp will run from 9am—4pm. The cost of the camp is $75. This is put on by Washburn-Tech and is not a mandatory function for any requirements here at Mission Valley. MVHS Ag. Mech students got a tour of Haas Metal Engineering (HME Inc.) today in Topeka, KS. Students were introduced to future employment opportunities in welding, fabrication, ironworking, engineering, and material handling. Thank you to Dayne @HME for the experience!

Gina Bergin, our HS Family and Consumer Science Teacher would like to invite 1st-6th grade students to the Kids in the Kitchen Summer Culinary Camp. Cost is $50.00/session. There are two sessions available: June 1-4 and June 15-18. Students will have the opportunity to learn kitchen safety, nutrition, measurement and make yummy food. Just a reminder that tonight is the PreK-1st Grade Spring Concert at 5:30 pm. and the 2-4 Grade Concert is at 7:00 pm. You do have to have tickets to enter. Students will meet in the new gym instead of their classrooms.

Fridays Junior High Track Meet at Osage City has be re-scheduled for Monday April 26th due to weather concerns. Mission Valley JH Track team is already competing at Holton on the 26th so we will not compete in the Osage Meet this year.

ACT Testing coming this Fall 2021! MVHS will now be providing ACT paper testing, during the school day, in October. Cost is $48 dollars (compared to $55 at other sites). It is open to 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. Contact Mr. Hancock if you want to participate.

April is Autism Awareness Month and the Kansas Department of Education is spotlighting students throughout Kansas. We are honored that one of our students is included. "Say hello to Carter Willard. Carter is a fun-loving kid who loves to play in the sand. As a student with autism, Carter is learning to be independent with help from his family, teachers & community. Heads up!!! -- Military, Law Enforcement, & 1st Responder Appreciation Day @ MVHS - 5/18/21 from 1pm-3:30pm. Military equipment (helicopter!), fire trucks, KHP, WABCO Sheriff, and EMS will be on site! Helps students show appreciation & learn how to be in one of these careers.
