
Sunflower Summer is a program of the Kansas State Department of Education and is designed to provide a wide variety of ways for families to get out, to explore something new, and to enjoy time together.
Starting May 28-August 14th via the Sunflower Summer app, each Kansas student enrolled in Pre-kindergarten through 12th grade and up to 2 named adults are provided one free visit to each of the participating attractions per year to over 70 Kansas attractions, museums, zoos, and more.

Today's HS Baseball game between MV and Northern Heights at Eskridge has been cancelled due to the field conditions.
We will make the call on today's Softball game at Harveyville between 11:00 and Noon.

Congratulations to our wildlife team for winning state Wildlife Habitat (WHEP). They identified Wildlife, created a management plan, tested over best management practices and took a general knowledge exam over wildlife. They will compete this summer at National WHEP in Kentucky.

Today's JV Baseball game between Mission Valley and Topeka High has been cancelled due to inclement weather and current field conditions. The games will not be rescheduled.

The HS Track Meet orginally scheduled for tomorrow has been moved to Friday, May 6 at 3:30 pm @ Herington.

MV Cheer Fundraiser Reminder for Color Run Event:
Forms are due in just a couple days, Friday, May 6th and registration is $6. The color run will be on May 21st at 9am at MVHS.

Last Saturday, Senior Gabriel Goldsmith took a vocal solo to the State Solo Competition at Friends University in Wichita, KS. His performance received a 1 rating, which is the highest score you can receive. We are so proud of his accomplishments in Choir this year. Congratulations Gabe!


Yesterday, MV students had their year-end assembly after participating in over 14 lessons regarding Suicide & Prevention Awareness provided in partnership with HEARTS; (Helping Empower Adolescents Reject Thoughts of Suicide). Each Viking Hour crew created slides to present surrounding a specific topic relating to suicide. The students did a great job creating their slides & presenting them. Our Elementary students are enjoying a fun Outdoor Adventure Day presented by our HS Ag students and Area Professionals.





JH/HS Finals will begin on Monday, May 16 and Tuesday, May 17th. JH students will be in school all day, with no exemptions. For exemptions, please check the attached sheet. https://5il.co/19o3a



The Flint Hills Junior League Track Meet will be held at Central Heights on May 10th, starting with Field Events at 10:30. The 7th & 8th Grade Mile and 2 Mile will begin at 11:15, followed by Running Events at 12:30.

Regional Track will be held at Jefferson County North on May 20th. Field Events will begin at 3:00 pm, followed by Prelims at 5:00, and Finals at 6:00 pm. They will be selling a limited number of T-Shirts, but, if you would like to Pre-Order a shirt please use the QR code or the form link on the attached sheet.
