Mission Valley Winter Royalty Candidates for 2022
MV's returning State Champion & Class 4-1A #1 ranked Hope Blake, went head to head with the Class 6-5A #1 Bre Ridgeway of Great Bend in the 132-pound championship match at the Rock Creek Girls' Inv. on 1/21. Both girls were undefeated this season and state champions a year ago. Blake, however, turned the meeting into a chance to stake claim as the best in the state at 132. The No. 2 seed, Blake caught Ridgeway and pinned her 23 seconds into the match for the statement-making title. Blake improved to 14-0 with the tourney win, which also included 14 and 57-second pins, the latter of Class 6A No. 4 Alexis Fredrickson of Washburn Rural in the semifinals. In addition to Hope being ranked the OVERALL #1 in the State at the 132# weight class, Jon Grame is also the 6th ranked wrestler in the 220# weight class for Class 4-1A. Congratulations to these two outstanding wrestlers and Good Luck the rest of the season!
