Viking Family-----USD 330 Mission Valley will not be in session on Wednesday, February 17th, 2021 due to continued concerns with sub-zero wind chill temperatures, concerns with transportation in the morning, and the possibility for rolling power outages. VIKING FAMILY--I just wanted to send a quick message regarding school tomorrow (2.17.21). At this point no decision has been made to have or not have school tomorrow. Right now we are gathering information about rolling energy blackouts that may occur tomorrow and are working on making sure that our buses are safe to transport students. If we are able to have school there is a chance that there will NOT be any morning transportation and possibly evening transportation if we are still having issues with buses. Please make other arrangements for the possible need of transportation tomorrow. If we are able to have school but then we are placed in an energy blackout it is important that child is dressed accordingly to deal with possible chilly temps in the building. All students should wear long pants, warm shirt and have a coat, hat, and gloves available to them during the day. If we are at school and there is an energy blackout and power is not going to be restored in a timely manner then we may be forced to leave school early. Without electricity we obviously can not keep a building warm or educate effectively........but we also can not prepare meals for 400+ students. USD 330 will send out additional information later this evening regarding school, however, please take this time to make plan for the different scenarios. Thank you for your time and cooperation. Congratulations to the MV Lady Viking Wrestlers at yesterday’s Regional Wrestling Meet as Hope Blake took 2nd place and Emma Slade placed 5th. Congrats to the MV Wrestlers on their Regional performance last night. Justice Dunbar, Jon Grame & Nolan Parker all placed 2nd in their respective weight class. They will now move on to Sub-State at Marion next week for the chance to qualify for State! Hope Blake & Emma Slade will wrestle in the girls Regionals today.

Mission Valley Girls and Boys Basketball brought home Wins tonight! Go Vikings!

Results from District D FCCLA Elections & Awards are in and Mission Valley brought home some serious hardware/honors yesterday! MV received the District D Power of One Award for most units completed per member! MV also received the STAR Event Award for the largest percentage of our chapter participating in a STAR Event! In individual awards, Clara earned gold and is the State Qualifier in Chapter in Review Portfolio! Megan earned top silver and is the State Qualifier in Sports Nutrition! Karlyn earned gold and is the State Qualifier in Job Interview! Athena earned top silver and is the State Qualifier in Leadership! Kiki & Paige earned gold and are the State Qualifiers in Hospitality, Tourism & Recreation! Emma & Lucy earned gold and were district runners-up in Focus in Children! Finally, Megan was one of two members to earn the District D Scholarship! Results of Elections: Clara will serve as District D VP of Publicity and Karlyn will move on as a State Officer Candidate. Congratulations Clara and Karlyn! Thank you Athena and Lucy for serving as voting delegates! Great Job MV!
