Tonight we will have the Wabaunsee High School Band and Choir at Mission Valley for the Wabaunsee County Concert at 7pm. Come see the two schools work together to create beautiful music.

We will be rewarding our students who have completed their Viking Hour assignments and Individual Plan of Study work through Xello buy having an early release from school on Friday March 11th @200pm. This will be for 7th-12th grade students. Their advisors will give them a card to check our in the office on Friday. If your child rides the bus, or you would like them to stay at school we will have supervised activities for them in the main gym until 3:30pm. Please notify the office if your child's transportation plans on this day change. GO VIKINGS!
Viking Family---Due to slick road conditions USD 330 Mission Valley will have a 2 hr delay on Monday, March 7th. All morning activities are cancelled. There will NOT be morning Pre-School. Breakfast will be available.

NEWS FLASH...LADY VIKINGS ARE GOING TO THE STATE. Mission Valley has defeated the #1 sub-state seed Northern Heights (41-35) to earn the trip to Bramledge in Manhattan.
State tournament information will be sent out.

Congratulations to the JH Wrestling Team on their great performance as they wrapped up their season at the Chase County Invitational Tournament yesterday. ALL the wrestlers did a fantastic job representing Mission Valley. The JH Wrestling Team is coached by (Coach Parker, Coach Bisnett, and Coach Slade) Viking Placers were: (Hemi Duehring---1st) (Wyatt Seastrom--1st) (Courtney Jones--2nd) (Carson Durkes--2nd) (Taryn Clark---2nd) (Sam Bryan--2nd) (Annie Conley--4th) (Westyn Zirkle--4th) (Andrew Smallwood--4th) (Devon Record--4th). Other wrestlers that competed were Wyatt Whitten & Carson Slade. Not pictured is Alaster Compton.
On Thursday, March 3rd, these students represented Mission Valley at the Kansas Job Olympics in Manhattan. Job Olympics is a competition developed to promote transition and employability skills for a broad spectrum of high school students.
The Kansas Job Olympics brings together students from 40 different schools throughout the area. Competitions representing actual job and employment situations are judged by business people from the community and professionals in education.
These Viking students brought back several medals from the event:
(Eric Keel- 1st in Facing Shelves, 1st in Making Change, and 1st in Host/Hostess)
(Doug Ross--1st in Job Interview, 2nd in Stocking)
(Talia Lira - 3rd in Stuffing/Labeling envelopes)
(Scott Bayless - 3rd in Job Interview)
(Jake Rockey was not old enough to compete, however he did receive an award for his awesome display of teamwork and support for those competing)
The students were supported by Mission Valley staff (Teacher---Kasi Kraus, and paraprofessionals Bobbi Bruner, Andi O'Byrne, Joe Carson). Special thanks to our school psychologist--Katie Burnett for arranging this awesome opportunity.
Come support the Lady Vikings tonight as they play in the Sub-State Championship game at Lyndon HS beginning @ 5:30 PM. The #2 Vikings will play #1 Northern Heights, with the winner earning a trip to State next week at KSU’s Bramlage Coliseum! Good Luck Lady Vikings!
Sub-State Update: MV Girls will play on Thursday vs Central Heights @ 7:30pm at Lyndon High School.
MV Boys will play on Friday vs Chase County @ 6:00pm at Lyndon High School.
Championship games will be played Saturday evening at Lyndon HS. GO VIKINGS!

Mission Valley Elementary will be hosting a Family Fun Night on March 8 from 6:00-8:00 pm. There will be Pizza provided by MV PTO as well as games and activities. Everyone is invited. We hope to see you there!
