NHS is conducting their annual food drive until next Tuesday. If you would like to donate any non-perishable food items, they would be greatly appreciated and will be distributed between the three community food banks. The class with the most items/per student will receive donuts and juice.

VIKING FAMILY---Due to a police chase in SW Shawnee County the K-12 building was placed on Level 1 Lockdown a little before 1:00 p.m. today. The building remained on Level 1 Lockdown for approximately 20 minutes. Level 1 Lockdown includes ensuring exterior doors are locked, classes continue and students are permitted to change classes inside the school but not between buildings. Students are not permitted to leave the facilities.
The suspect was apprehended between 1:15 p.m. and 1:20 p.m. At no point was there a direct threat towards the school or students. The action to move to Level 1 Lockdown was done proactively.
Please contact the USD 330 Mission Valley District Office if you have any questions.
Reminder, some of the freshmen will be attending Flint Hills Vo-Tech's Wrangler Rally tomorrow. They need to bring their permission slips w/them in the morning or they won't be able to visit the campus & the IT program. Please ask your freshman about this to secure their visit.

Parents and Guardians, The Mission Valley Social Studies Department has the opportunity to take 7th-12th grade students to the Auschwitz. Not Long Ago. Not Far Away exhibit at Union Station in Kansas City. This exhibit is a Living Memorial to the Holocaust. The exhibition explores the dual identity of the camp as a physical location—the largest documented mass murder site in human history-- and as a symbol of the borderless manifestation of hatred and human barbarity. While not all classes this year will talk about World War II, we believe this to be an important opportunity for all of our Mission Valley students. We feel this would be a chance to expose our students to a tremendously historical event in our Worlds history! Junior High will attend on December 14th. Leave at 8am and return at 315pm. 9th-12th Grades dates TBD at this time.
If you do not want your student to attend this exhibit, please email or call the main office.
Here are additional pictures of our Preschoolers enjoying their new playground!
