Parents and Guardians, The Mission Valley Social Studies Department has the opportunity to take 7th-12th grade students to the Auschwitz. Not Long Ago. Not Far Away exhibit at Union Station in Kansas City. This exhibit is a Living Memorial to the Holocaust. The exhibition explores the dual identity of the camp as a physical location—the largest documented mass murder site in human history-- and as a symbol of the borderless manifestation of hatred and human barbarity. While not all classes this year will talk about World War II, we believe this to be an important opportunity for all of our Mission Valley students. We feel this would be a chance to expose our students to a tremendously historical event in our Worlds history! Junior High will attend on December 14th. Leave at 8am and return at 315pm. 9th-12th Grades dates TBD at this time.
If you do not want your student to attend this exhibit, please email or call the main office.
Here are additional pictures of our Preschoolers enjoying their new playground!
