MVHS congratulates Paige Sims for being nominated as a Presidential CTE Scholar from Kansas. Paige is 1 of 5 Kansas students nominated for this honor. She will move onto the semi-finals being 1 of 200 students nominated for this honor in the entire COUNTRY!!! Good Luck Paige!

COVID Can’t Stop Us! Despite not being able to travel this year, our Mission Valley FCCLA chapter was able to host a Conference Day this month. During this day, members got the opportunity to watch the District D Fall Leadership Conference (FLC) and the first ever Virtual Leadership Experience (VLE) put on by the national officers. The chapter officers decorated the FCS room to prepare for a fun conference! On January 15th, all the new members got to experience opening and closing ceremonies, including the Presentation of Colors and even the Parade of States! We started the day with a 75th birthday celebration for FCCLA. Throughout the day, members got to engage in icebreakers and activities led by Mrs. Bergin and state officers. FCCLA also partnered with JoAnn’s Fabric to put together a service project where members made tie blankets for Project Linus, an organization that provides blankets to children who are ill or have gone through trauma. To close out the day, members had a dance party to get in some exercise after watching Peer Ed and State officer workshops as well as KeyNote speakers. Complete with snacks, glowsticks, and lots of listening to amazing speakers, the Virtual Conference Day was a success!

Here are the wrestling results from yesterday’s meet @ Flinthills HS. We also want to recognize Nolan Parker on his 1st place finish @ St. Marys. Hope Blake, Justice Dunbar and Nolan Parker went 1-0. Jon Grame went 1-1. Laken Lewis and Emma Slade went 0-1.

We have a make up game against West Franklin on Thursday, January 28th. The schedule is below. Congratulations to our Winter Royalty! We are celebrating with Spirit Week as well as a Jersey Auction today, Banner Painting tomorrow and the HS/Staff Basketball game on Thursday. Crowning of King and Queen will be Friday during half-time of the HS Boys Basketball Game.
