Our Homecoming Football Game is back on! We will host Pratt HS tonight. Kick-Off 6:30PM. FFA tailgate 5:00pm-6:30pm. King and Queen will be crowned at half time. GO VIKINGS!

USD 330 Mission Valley was notified this evening that due to COVID-19 West Franklin is unable to compete tomorrow night in the Varsity Football game and in the JV Football game on Monday. School administration and staff responsible for homecoming activities will be meeting in the morning to explore options. We are also in the process to find another opponent for tomorrow night.
We will update you as soon as we have determined the course of actions that we plan to take. As of right now the homecoming activities planned for tomorrow night at the football game are on hold. If we are able to find a replacement then our plan will be to continue with all homecoming activities.

Congratulations to the JH Lady Viking Volleyball team tonight at Osage City. The A-Team defeated Osage City in the first game (27-25, 25-22) and lost the second game (19-25, 25-13, 10-15). The B-Team defeated Osage City (26-24, 25-19) and the C-Team came away victorious (25-22, 25-10).
The JH Lady Vikings will take on the Lyndon Tigers next Thursday (9/16/21) at Mission Valley @ 4:30 p.m.
Mrs. Palmquist our new Art teacher, will be using a program called Artsonia. Through this program you should be receiving an email l to grant permission for your student(s) to participate in this online gallery and digital learning tool. Besides helping students to learn digital citizenship skills, they gain access to a portfolio which they can build on, during their time at Mission Valley and beyond. It is also a great way to share your child's work with family and friends, as they can become fans who can view the growth of your artist. Osage City Schools passed a mask mandate at their board mtg. last night, requiring all PreK-6th Grade students that enter their facilities to wear a mask. This includes activities as well. All other spectators masks are highly recommended, but not required and we ask that you social distance when possible. We ask the Mission Valley patrons follow these guidelines when visiting OC for events.

Every year the Department of Education hosts a Calendar Contest for students K-12. This year's theme is: : “Recycle Right-What Really Belongs in the Recycle Bin”.
The Rules:
1. Only artwork submitted on 8.5x11 inch paper in landscape orientation will be accepted.
2. Copyrighted materials such as cartoon characters, or team mascots (Wildcats, Jayhawks, Royals, etc.) cannot be published.
3. 1st Place Winners from the previous two years are not eligible to win.
4. Artwork must be postmarked by September 30, 2021
