COVID-19 Update
March 18, 2020
The KSHSAA is committed to the safety of our student-participants and the health of our school communities. Accordingly, in response to Governor Kelly’s Executive Order regarding the closure and cessation of in-person instruction in all Kansas schools through May 29, 2020, the KSHSAA is cancelling all spring championships, competitions, and festivals for the remainder of this school year. The KSHSAA recognizes the value of school activities for all students and school communities, but the current situation does not permit the opportunity for school activities to take place in a manner that is consistent with the very reason school activities exist....https://5il.co/dwxf

Dear Parents,
We would appreciate your responses to this confidential survey. This survey is intended for our USD 330 Mission Valley staff to thoughtfully plan for continuing learning as schools to close for the remainder of the semester due to COVID-19.
Our school is calmly taking a proactive approach to planning for all scenarios. We want to ensure we're equipped to temporarily switch to a continuous learning environment. The information you provide will help us develop a plan for each student to continue learning.

Ray Finley (Wabaunsee County Health Administrator) has made the decision to CLOSE both school districts in Wabaunsee County for two weeks, till March 30th. This includes all activities and athletic events.
This decision was made in the best interest and safety of the students, staff, families and community. This was not an easy decision to make, knowing that it will create some hardships to some families. But will benefit all families, along with the community as a whole, in the long run.
As we enter these next few weeks, please realize that we are all treading on uncharted waters and will keep you up to date with information as it's released.
One of our main concerns is our students. It is important that you keep the lines of communication open by talking with them in their terms about the virus, how it is contracted, and ways to prevent it. Reassure them of your love and comfort. Also, by minimizing their exposure to the media about COVID-19 it will help to alleviate their anxiety about the disease.
In the meantime, please stay vigilant and follow the recommendations from the medical professionals:
Cover coughs and sneezes
Wash hands with soap and water thoroughly for 20 seconds
Avoid touching your face/mouth with your hands if they have not been washed.
Avoid being around sick people
If you feel sick----STAY HOME and contact your local health care provider.
Be fever free for a minimum of 24 hours before returning to work or school.
Use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
If you have traveled out-of-the country or if you have traveled to a known "hot spot" in the United States after February 25th.you are highly recommended to contact your local county health department and notify them of your travels.
