We are excited for a home JH wrestling meet next Tuesday at 4:00 pm. in the old gym. Come early to the Basketball game and support our JH wrestlers!

In our final season tournament that leads to State, our Boys and Girls teams have been awarded a 4th place seed. The Girls will host Lyndon on Monday at 7:00 pm. The Boys will host Shawnee-Maranatha Christian Academy on Tuesday at 7:00 pm. If they win they will continue play on Thursday and Friday in Lyndon. Go Vikings!

Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, February 26th at 1:30 for a Community Pep Rally and State send off for our State Bound Wrestlers. Shelby Kesler will wrestle in Salina on Thursday and Friday. Nolan Parker, Caleb Lisk, Justice Dunbar and Jon Grame will wrestle in Hays on Thursday and Friday! Go Vikings!

Mtg. during seminar JH Wrestling @ Council Grove – 4 p.m. HS Track & Field meeting today during Seminar in Room 215 (Mrs. Zerr’s old room) after Read-It. Anyone interested in going out for track this spring, including dual sport athletes need to attend. Congratulations to the wrestlers over the weekend. Jon Grame and Justice Dunbar took 4th place, Caleb Lisk was 3rd place and Nolan Parker was the 285# Class 3-2-1A East Regional Champion. With that, MV will have 5 wrestlers going to state this week. Shelby will be in Salina on Thursday for the first ever KSHSAA Sanctioned Girls State Wrestling and the boys will be in Hays on Friday and Saturday. Good luck to all! Next week baseball practice will be in the mornings starting at 6:30 a.m. There are sign-up sheets on the office counter for those interested in trying out for JH Cheer, HS Cheer and Dance. Deadline to sign up is Monday, March 2nd. Please be sure to take a practice schedule when you sign up. The Pennies for Patients campaign will run from Feb. 18 - Feb. 28. Totals will be sent out on Monday, Mar. 2. It will be a competition with 1st hour classes and the class collecting the highest (has to be more than $50) will earn a treat of your choice, i.e. donuts and juice or ice cream floats, etc. A 'Student Life & Academic Skills Group Training' will start meeting with Mr. Hancock, in his office, on March 2, 2020. This group will be from 6-8 weeks long and meet on Monday's during lunch hours. If you are interested, please see Mr. Hancock. ACT and ACT Work Keys will be administered on 2/25/2020 and 2/26/2020 for ALL juniors. Pre-Test administration will be on 2/21/2020. Mission Valley Forensics had a great day today! Sydney Gleason made finals & placed 5th in Humorous Solo. Ashlyn Fast made finals & brought home the gold placing 1st in Serious Solo! This also qualified Ashlyn for the 2nd time for State in May! Congratulations Girls!

Wow! What an awesome group of Seniors we recognized at the Basketball game last night. We wish them the best of luck in whatever their future holds!
