Mission Valley Jr./Sr. High School Daily Announcements Feb. 20 – Feb. 21, 2020 Thursday., Feb. 20 FFA Chapter meeting during seminar JH Wrestling @ Herington – 4 p.m. Seniors: If you have an unpaid balance with Jostens for graduation products, you need to pay on-line or bring you payment to the office ASAP so that we can inform Jostens that we have received your payment. In the past they have left the items with us until it was paid for. This year they are doing something different and they will not deliver the products until they receive your payment. They are planning to deliver the items to MV during the next couple of weeks. If you have any questions or are not sure if you have a balance please contact the high school office. There are sign-up sheets on the office counter for those interested in trying out for JH Cheer, HS Cheer and Dance. Deadline to sign up is Monday, March 2nd. Please be sure to take a practice schedule when you sign up. The Pennies for Patients campaign will run from Feb. 18 - Feb. 28. Totals will be sent out on Monday, Mar. 2. It will be a competition with 1st hour classes and the class collecting the highest (has to be more than $50) will earn a treat of your choice, i.e. donuts and juice or ice cream floats, etc. Students who are interested in visiting Fort Riley, Kansas to learn more about the U.S. Army and Army National Guard need to see Mr. Hancock. A 'Student Life & Academic Skills Group Training' will start meeting with Mr. Hancock, in his office, on March 2, 2020. This group will be from 6-8 weeks long and meet on Monday's during lunch hours. If you are interested, please see Mr. Hancock. ACT and ACT Work Keys will be administered on 2/25/2020 and 2/26/2020 for ALL juniors. Pre-Test administration will be on 2/21/2020. Mr. Hancock will contact each student to inform you of testing sites and times. Shelby pinned 5 of the 6 girls that she wrestled with her only loss coming to the #1 girl in the State! Shelby will wrestle on Feb. 27th at Tony’s Event Center in Salina. This is FFA Week, and as always they conclude the week with an Appreciation Breakfast for the community. So mark your calendars for this Friday (Feb. 21) from 6:30-8:30 am for Pancakes, Toast, Eggs, Biscuits & Sausage. Everyone is Welcome!

Winter Royalty Activities continue today with the NHS Basketball Classic.

It's that time of year again. Pennies for Patients, conducted by the KAY organization. The campaign will run from Tuesday, Feb. 18 - Friday, Feb. 28. The classroom boxes will be collected on Friday, Feb. 21 and Friday, Feb. 28. Totals will be announced each Monday with the winners announced on Monday, March 2. The classroom with the highest total at the end of the two weeks wins a classroom party of their choice. Let's go Vikings, dig out your piggy banks for those pennies!

All Winter Royalty activities originally scheduled for yesterday, have been moved to Tuesday, February 18th.

FCCLA hosted their District elections today at Mission Valley. We thank all those that braved the weather to come.
