Notice of Special Board of Education Meeting---There will be a Special Board of Education Meeting on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 @ 7 p.m. in the 7-12 Library at Mission Valley.
Jr. High Wrestling practice will begin Mon. Jan. 20 at 4:30 pm until 5:45pm. Then 6 am practices for the rest of next week. If you haven’t done a fall or winter sport then make sure to bring the following signed forms: Physical, Concussion and Insurance/Emergency Contact forms. Go Vikes!

We had a great High School Pep Rally this afternoon with lots of activity by the students.
Board Members Leading for Success
January is School Board Recognition Month, and it's a great opportunity to say thank you to the Mission Valley Board of Education who are committed to the success of every student in our community.
Our board of education includes Clinton Lambotte, Clipper Goodrich, Jon Deters, Jim Rudeen, Tuff Stevenson, Jake Durkes and Mistina Kraus.
These seven community leaders volunteer hundreds of hours attending meetings, reading reports and discussing plans and programs to support educational achievement.
“Our board members develop policies and make complex decisions that shape the future of our education system. They are accountable for our annual budget, students, employees and buildings.
A board member’s responsibility goes far behind the monthly meeting, however.
“They also meet with legislators and other policy makers to advocate for our schools to make sure every child has access to an excellent education. We are grateful to have this opportunity to formally say ‘thank you’ to each of them.”
Mission Valley encourages the entire community to thank a school board member, not only this month but throughout the entire year.
So, don't forget to thank our Mission Valley Board of Education members.

Hello Vikings,
This week we have two basketball games.
Tuesday 1/14, we play Northern Heights at home. Mission Valley students and fans find your inner Cowboy and come to the game dressed up as cowboys, some ideas to dress up are cowboy hats, boots jeans, belts.
Friday we travel to West Franklin. The theme for that game is White Out, wear all white clothes! Let’s show some Viking pride!!

Remember that HS Winter Sport Pictures are tomorrow (Tuesday) at 3:00. HS Wrestlers & Basketball Players need to bring uniforms, Lifetouch envelope and check payable to ‘Lifetouch’ if ordering!
Due to MV schools being cancelled today, we will make up the JH first round BB tourney games on Tuesday at Lyndon. The ‘A’ girls will play at 4:30 and will be the Home team, while the ‘A’ Boys will play at 5:45 and will be the Away team. Good Luck Vikings!

As school let out today we were amazed and thankful for a couple of our High School students who were roaming the parking lot clearing ice covered car windows. Although they were dressed for their games tonight, we thank Dawson Logan and Justice Dunbar for going above and beyond and are thankful for their kind act.
The Burlington Wrestling Invitational scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled due to weather concerns. A reschedule date is being looked at. Thanks!
