Congratulations to our medal winners at the Council Grove Cross County meet last night. Kyplee took 3rd in the middle school girls race. Luke took 19th in the middle school boys race, and AJ took 15th in the Varsity boys race. Way to go Vikings!
Anti-Bullying Awareness Week begins 10/7-10/11/2019. Students are working on Viking SAGA lessons themed "Choose Peace". An inter-class competition pitting the Srs vs Jrs, So. vs Fr, & 8th vs. 7th starts on 10/7/19 & the winners announced on Friday. A special reward 4 winners!

PSAT/NMSQT assessment will take place on 10/16 from 8:15-12 pm; Costs $16 & it's a great tool to prepare for the ACT/SAT. A high score could qualify you for the NMSQT scholarships. Parents should encourage their So, Jr, & Sr's to sign up, only 45 slots available!
"Apply KS!" is tomorrow! 1:56 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Seniors & juniors who are applying to vo-tech, colleges, or universities should show up &, learn about the college application process, win college swag, & apply! FYI: Bring a credit/debit card to pay for application fees if needed.
JH FB plays @ 3:45 today at Emporia MS (2300 Graphics Arts Rd). From Hwy. 99, take I-35 S. to Exit 128. Head North to last stop light @ W 24th Ave. & turn left for 0.1 miles to MS entrance. You will walk up long hill to the field (seating is limited so bring lawn chairs).
RESCHEDULE ALERT!! Financial Aid Night has been moved to 10/16/2019 at 6:30 pm due to the HS football game against Council Grove being rescheduled for this evening, and the obvious conflicts it would create for the many students.

Seniors/Juniors & their Parents: It is that time of year for financial aid and "FAFSA". The "financial aid" night is on 9/30/19 at 6:30 p.m. in the FACS room @ the HS. All you need is a writing utensil and your presence. Washburn University financial aid director is presenting.
Good Luck to HS Cross Country on Saturday as they travel to Lawrence to run in the Rim Rock Classic. Girls will run at 11:45 followed by the boys at 12:25.
