Wellness Committee meeting


USD 330 will be providing free vision and hearing screenings to all students enrolled in Pre-K-12 grade. In compliance with Kansas State Statute 72-5201, all district students will be screened unless the parent does not want their child to participate in the screenings. The screenings will be provided at school and will be at no charge. If you wish to opt out of the screening process, please fill out and return the form no later than August 29th. The form will be sent home from school this week or you may access it here: http://5il.co/4iam

Fall 2018 Cross County and Volleyball practices will start on August 13th.
JH Volleyball: 3:45 to 5:30 pm
HS Volleyball: 3:45-6:30 pm
Cross Country: 4:00 - 5:30 - meet in the high school commons area. On Friday, August 17th we will practice from 4:00 - 5:30 in Dover (Browning's house).
Remember - all athletes have to have a physical and concussion form on file in order to practice!!

There will be a Special Board Meeting on Monday, August 6th @ 7:00 pm, at the District Office in Eskridge.

USD 330 Mission Valley is currently accepting applications for substitute bus drivers. Salary starts at $17.86/hr with paid training. Applicants will be required to pass a DOT physical, back ground check, and drug screening. Applications for classified employees can be found on-line at www.mv330.org (Employment Opportunities)

Enrollment Packets will be sent out within the next few weeks and you can enroll in person or online.

Congratulations to Jesse Bruner, a 2017 Mission Valley graduate, for his 6th place finish in the Welding Competition at the Skills USA Event in Louisville, KY. In order for Jesse to compete at the national level he had to win gold at the State level. The competition included various aspects of welding through a specified completed project, and knowledge of gas metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding, shielded metal and gas tungsten arc welding. SkillsUSA is a structured program of citizenship, leadership, employability, technical and professional skills training. Jesse is a student at Washburn Tech in Topeka.

With July quickly approaching, we wanted to check in on how our Elementary students were doing on their reading passport, "The Great Journey." Remember to encourage your child to:
*read with a family member, friend, pet or even a stuffed animal.
*read a variety of reading materials.
*read at various times.
*read in various places.
*read for different reasons.
*read in different ways.
