Congratulations to our FFA Robotics Team for their 2nd place finish this past weekend in Kansas City at the BotsKC competition. Teams such as KSU, ISU, NDSU and Pitt State were involved.
They will be heading to nationals in California, PA from May 16-19. Their robot, Black Widow, became a fan favorite and was originally underrated due to our small school and lack of resources.
The robotics team members are: Mateo Lisk, Keith Jones, PJ Myers, Zach McCarley, Caleb Hinck, Brandon Hittle, Trevor Moore and Kyle Atwood.
Congratulations!

Tonight's Board of Education Meeting Agenda

Teacher shortages are becoming common place across the state. In an effort to help you “grow your own”, K-State has developed a summer immersion camp for high school students interested in becoming elementary teachers. If you know of promising students in our community who you believe would benefit from attending this camp, please share the flyer with them. If you’d like more information, please contact LouAnn Getz (K-State College of Education) at lgetz@ksu.edu or at 785.532.5670.

We would like to recognize our Mission Valley Paraprofessionals for their teacher assistance in general daily classroom activities, their support and help with special needs students, and their caring personalities for our students physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs. Thank you!

The 4th annual Maisie 5k will be held on Saturday, May 12th at Mission Valley. This 5k coincides with the Maisie Gravel Ride. Both of these events are put on by local community members volunteering their time to help fund the Maisie DeVore Community Swimming Pool. Through these fundraiser, the pool is open all summer and is FREE to all who attend. All proceeds from the events go directly back to the pool If you are interested in walking or running the 5k, I have attached a form.
Volunteers are also needed. not interested in the 5k or gravel ride, you can give back to your community by Volunteering your time to help with the ride/registration/5k/heping with a pit stop(also know as a SAG). Volunteers are needed Friday evening from ~4-8 and Saturday from 6a.m.--complete
Volunteers are accepted for ANY amount of time they can help, so please if you are interested in volunteering, contact myself, Denise Dudley or Sonya Boline.
If you haven't seen a gravel ride start, it is pretty awesome to see 200 riders from all over the US come to Mission Valley to help out our community.

The softball and baseball games scheduled for today versus Central Heights have been postponed. The games are rescheduled for May 1st.

We would like to remind the parents of our 8th graders that tomorrow evening (Wednesday) at 6:30 PM, in the HS Commons area, we will be presenting helpful and important information on the enrollment of the students for their first year of high school. High school enrollment can be confusing and complex. How your student starts their 9th grade year, and the type of diploma they wish to graduate with, sets their high school enrollment for the years to come.
We ask that ALL parents of our 8th graders attend. Feel free to bring your student(s) to the meeting as well. Even if you did attend our recent Advisory Conferences, getting information from this meeting can help set a successful high school experience and help with post high school graduation plans.
Date: Wednesday (April 4th)
Time: 6:30 PM Start
Location: HS Commons
Presenters: Mrs. Converse and Mr. Cromer
