Congratulations to Bryce Bunger on being one of KSHSAA Covered's 2-1A baseball players to watch! While teammate Porter Deters was breaking his own stolen base record last year, Bunger was somewhat quietly racking up his fair share of steals a year ago as a sophomore starter for the Vikings. He pilfered 34 bases while hitting .427 and driving in 27 runs as well on his way to first-team All-Flint Hills League honors. Bunger, who plays centerfield and pitches, will move to the top of the batting order this season.

Congratulations to Hemi Duehring on being one of KSHSAA Covered's players to watch in soccer! Duehring was a key part of a Cair Paravel defense that allowed just one goal per game last year and finished the season with nine shutouts. Only three of those goals allowed came in the postseason as the Lions reached the Class 4-1A state championship match for the first time in program history, settling for second after a heartbreaking 1-0 double-overtime loss to Bishop Miege in the finals. Duehring was a first-team All-Kaw Valley Conference selection and had two goals and one assist last season.

Viking Family---As part of their monthly safety training, this morning the USD 330 Transportation Department received some valuable, life-saving Stop the Bleed training from Eric Coleman from the Wamego Police Department. Stop the Bleed training is crucial because it empowers individuals to recognize and control life-threatening bleeding, a leading cause of preventable death after injury, until professional help arrives, potentially saving lives. Uncontrolled bleeding from trauma is a significant cause of death, especially for people under 44. GO VIKINGS---BE SAFE, BE TRAINED, BE PREPARED

MV Students visited Stormont Vail Hospital today for a job-site visit to align with each student's college/career readiness and IPS studies. The students learned about the laboratory, the Baker University Nursing School (co-located @ Stormont), and learned about the career opportunities @ Stormont. This knowledge helped the students identify college/career pathways needed to achieve these careers. #MVCareers #MVFutures #StormontRocks
