VIKING FAMILY----We are 1-week away from the Ground Breaking Ceremony scheduled for Thursday, April 20th @ 2:30 p.m. at Mission Valley Schools. EVERYONE is invited to attend this ceremony as we begin to break ground on all the incredible facility projects. Throw on your Mission Valley Gear and come celebrate with all the VIKINGS!
The ceremony is scheduled to be held at the football field. If inclement weather is present then adjustments will need to be made.

There is a $3 admission fee for students and adults at the JH track meet at St. Marys. Field events start at 2:00. The 3200 meter run starts at 3:30 with the rest of the running events to follow.
Baseball and softball both play at Lyndon tomorrow starting at 4:00.

Mission Valley placed 1st and 2nd overall at the Regional Envirothon at Council Grove today! Our 3 other teams placed 5th, 7th and 11th out of 25 teams at the event! Way to represent MV!!!
The regional Envirothon event at Council Grove is one of our favorite events of the year! 25 Mission Valley FFA members attended and competed in 6 different areas with schools from all over the area. They learned from Experts in each division & then went back to take a test at each station. The divisions are Forestry, Wildlife, Rangeland, Soils, Aquatics/Ecology & Current Issue(adapting to climate change)
Mission Valley will compete at State on April 26th!

Our Mission Valley 2023 senior class will be participating in the senior parade again this year. The parade will take place on Saturday, May 13th starting around 9am. We will travel from MVHS to K-4 into Dover, followed by Harveyville, and we will finish by traveling through Eskridge back to MVHS. In the past, this has taken roughly 1.5 hours. We look forward to seeing you all cheer on our seniors along the route! GO VIKINGS!

On Tuesday our Viking Hours competed in a team puzzle event, and they had a blast!

The softball team swept Burlingame today with scores of 5-1 and 12-5. They play at Lyndon on Friday.

Tuesday, our JV baseball game with Topeka High was rescheduled and will start at 4:00 at Hummer.
Varsity softball is in action at Harveyville vs Burlingame at 4:00.
Our HS track team is also in action at Perry-Lecompton starting at 4:00.

Viking Family--On Wednesday, April 5th a Special Board meeting/work session was held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The purpose of the meeting was to begin establishing a new set of BOE goals and to review the current budget.
Steve Parsons, retired superintendent & consultant for the Greenbush Education Cooperative guided the goal setting discussions and provided the review of the district's budget for the BOE. USD 330 Mission Valley would like to thank the BOE for their continued dedication and commitment in working to establish the vision for the district which will lead us into the future.
