"I was able to combine my love of visual arts & sharing that with youth. I always enjoyed working with children. Graduating college was important also because I was the 1st of 7 kids in my family to attend. Neither of my parents were able to attend a 4 year college, but they encouraged me to pursue a degree." ~~ Mrs. Palmquist, K-12 Art #WhyApply #ApplyKS coming soon to seniors 10/3/22

"I only applied to out of state schools, not because there was anything wrong with Kansas Schools. I had it in my head that a girl could only be independent if she traveled a significant distance away from her parents for a time. I chose Linfield College (now Linfield University) in McMinnville, Oregon. Also, I knew that my parents would be moving to Washington state the following year. Linfield has excellent study abroad opportunities. I spent a summer term and fall semester in San Jose, Costa Rica. I attended college classes there while living with a local family. I was able to learn to speak Spanish fluently and we had a lot of opportunities to explore the country. You actually learn a lot about your own country when you live in another one. The whole experience was amazing! Going to a small liberal arts college allowed me to really get to know my professors (who were all full PhDs) and gave me a well-rounded education. It has given me a wider perspective from which I view the world." Mrs. Susan Bozarth, HS Paraprofessional #WhyApply #ApplyKS coming soon to seniors 10/3/22

"I always knew I wanted to go to college, but I had no idea what all it would bring me once I made it to Manhattan. The experiences K-State allowed me to have are some of my most favorite to date. The education I received is something I will always cherish, right along with the friends and relationships that were built during my time in Manhattan. These are just a few reasons that I am proud to support #WHYAPPLY." Mr. Fiske, Ag Teacher #WhyApply #ApplyKS coming soon to seniors 10/3/22
