We had a GREAT Open House and Back To School Pep Rally last night! We saw tons of Viking Pride and it was great to see all of our families back in the building! Thank you to our PTO for providing meals for everyone! We also had a celebration for our STATE CHAMPION baseball and softball teams! Thank you to our Cheer and Dance athletes and sponsors for planning a great event! GO VIKINGS!

We are all so excited to see our students back in the building tomorrow! K-12 Doors open at 7:45am. JH students report to the main gym, HS students stay in the commons area. JH/HS parents please use the driveway by the South doors to drop of students. Elementary parents please drop off at the North Doors. Parents please do not drop off students at the main entrances as this is dangerous for our buses and bus riders. Welcome back everyone! GO VIKINGS!

The community Pep Rally and meal taking place after K-12 Open House tonight has been moved to the Main gym! Open House 5-6pm. Pep Rally 630-700pm! GO VIKINGS!

Junior Class of 2024: If you want to take the ACT Workkeys this Fall, there is a sign up outside of my office. I need to know if you want to take the ACT Workkeys by this Thursday, 8/25/2022. What will the ACT Workkeys do for you? The ACT Workkeys is an industry recognized assessment that provides you with a certificate that can assist you obtaining employment. The ACT Workkeys also is recognized by all Kansas Vocational Technical colleges for admission acceptance. Does the ACT Workkeys cost money? The ACT Workkeys does NOT cost you money if taken during the Fall semester of your Junior year. If you take it any other time, it will cost you money. When will the ACT Workkeys be administered and where? The ACT Workkeys will be administered on October 19, 2022 from 8:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. It will be administered in the north gymnasium if there are an ample number of students. If not, an alternate location will be used. Can I get accommodations for the ACT Workkeys? Yes, just work with your school counselor to get these accomplished.

For those residents who are registered to vote and reside in the USD 330 Mission Valley School District, you should have received your ballot in the mail by 8/12/22. If you did not receive your ballot you are asked to contact the Wabaunsee County Clerk's Office at 785-765-2421 or email clerk@wbcounty.org Please remember to place your ballot in the mail by Friday, August 26th to ensure delivery by the August 30th @ the Noon deadline. Reminder that on Monday, August 15th @ 6:00 p.m. @ Mission Valley there will be another Town Hall Meeting & Facility Tour. Congratulations to Dr. Kelly Hoelting as she has successfully completed, and defended her dissertation. A trailblazer in the agricultural education field, Mrs. Hoelting has shown others that being a successful educator, mother, and community member is possible! There will be a parents/coaches meeting tonight at 6:00 pm in the HS commons for all fall sports. We will start in the commons and then go with individual coaches for each sport.

Parents/Guardians, if your student is taking an ACC college class, the classes start on 8/22/22 here at MVHS. The textbooks will be at MVHS on 8/18/22. If the class requires payment, you can pay online through the students "MyAllen" page, call the Burlingame campus to pay over the phone, or pay in person. Payment has to be done within 3 days after the class starts or the student will be dropped from the course. MVHS does not pay for courses or accept payment for courses, so you will have to work directly with ACC in regards to this transaction.

There will be a coaches/parents meeting for all fall sports on Thursday at 6:00 pm in the high school commons. *Physicals, Concussion Forms, Etc. These forms as well as some others will be available and need to be filled out before your child can participate.

The Mission Valley Football Program had a special event last night. They hosted our 1st ever Lift-A-Thon fundraiser and Commitment Signing Day. The coaches are so proud of the growth they made this summer in all they did. Go VIKINGS! Thank you for showing up to support the team!
