Mission Valley students taking History and Culture of Latin America, 2D Art, and Advanced Art classes were given the opportunity to tour the Nelson-Atkins Museum's exhibit Painted Worlds: Color and Culture in Mesoamerican Art today. It was a great learning experience and gave students an up close and personal view of the cultures and artwork they are currently studying.
Our HS basketball teams are back in action on Tuesday at Mission Valley against Madison with the JV games starting at 4:30. As of now, there is supposed to be a full C boys game.

Mr. Fiske was recently awarded as the 2025 KAAE Outstanding Agricultural Education Teacher at their annual Mid-Winter Symposium.
Mr. Fiske’s award reflects the associations values on teaching philosophy, leadership, classroom instruction and more.

Viking Family----Please welcome Dr. George Seiler to the Mission Valley Family. The USD 330 Board of Education unanimously approved Dr. Seiler at a Special Board Meeting on January 20th as the next superintendent. Dr. Seiler will assume his duties on July 1, 2026.
My name is George Seiler, and I grew up in Timber Lake, S.D. My dad was a school superintendent for over thirty years, and I followed in his footsteps.
I graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology Education and a Master's in K-12 Principal Leadership. I went on to complete a specialist degree in Superintendent Leadership from the University of Sioux Falls and an Educational Doctorate in Superintendent Leadership from the University of South Dakota.
I started my career as a HS science teacher in Watertown, South Dakota, teaching Biology, Physical Science, Fundamentals of Physical Science, and alternative science. I coached junior high track and basketball while also teaching night school for students who had dropped out of Watertown. I was offered the position of 6-12 principal in the Kadoka school district, where my dad first entered educational administration, and I served for 3 years. I served as the superintendent and special services director in New Underwood for 4 years and as the Redfield school district superintendent for 4 years. For the last three years, I have served as the superintendent and special services director at the Bon Homme School District.
I am looking forward to working with the staff, students, and community of the Mission Valley school district to build on the district's success. I am moving to be closer to family and am excited to be in an area that reminds me of home, with the pastures and farmland. I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my dog. I am excited to be a Mission Valley Viking!
