Our HS football team had their signing day and lift-a-thon yesterday. Thanks to everyone who came out to support them and great job guys!
Rising seniors Karlyn Area and Kharia Geurink attended the Kansas Future Teacher Academy this week, hosted by Emporia State University.
This five-day camp included guest presentations from a variety of educators, including the new Kansas Commissioner of Education, Dr. Jake Steel.
Students were introduced to a variety of teaching topics and then paired with another student to complete a creative presentation about their subject.
Karlyn and Kharia did a phenomenal job with their presentations! They are both in the Education/Training Pathway in the Family & Consumer Sciences department at MV. Join us in congratulating these extraordinary future teachers. Mission Valley is so proud of you!

State Softball Update From KSHSAA
With reports from weather service and KU here is our plan:
We are only going to play the 2-1A tournament today.
First pitch will be at Noon for Colgan vs Dexter/Cedar Vale.
Followed by Mission Valley vs Uniontown.
Then championship game.
State track starts Friday.

We are going to get an update Friday morning about the state softball games.
Assuming the weather is fine, the other semifinal game is supposed to start where they left off in the bottom of the first inning at 9:30 am.
Our softball team plans to leave at 8:00 am if you would like to send them off.
We will play approximately 25 minutes after the other semifinal and the championship will be played about 25 minutes after our semifinal.
Per KSHSAA, there will be no consolation (3rd place) games. Both teams that are supposed to play in the 3rd place game will receive a trophy and medals for finishing 3rd place.

Our state softball game has been postponed until tomorrow. Below is the schedule for tomorrow from KSHSAA. In these situations, they usually use a rolling schedule and play the following game approximately 25 minutes after the previous one.
Friday schedule at KU Arrocha:
9:30 - completion of Colgan vs Dexter/Cedar Vale
2-1A Mission Valley vs Uniontown
2-1A Championship
3A Championship
4A Championship
We’re hearing that the other semifinal game won’t restart before 2:30 or 3:00 at the earliest.
We will update you as we get information for the start time of our game.
