Class banners have been hung at the field! While some classes ran out of time and couldnt finish the school spirit was flowing nonetheless! GO VIKINGS!

Our students did an amazing job this year decorating the hallways for homecoming week! The building has been buzzing all week with excitment and school spirit! GO VIKINGS!

Great night for Mission Valley JH! Volleyball picked up two wins to clinch the league title and the top seed in the league tournament on the 14th. They play at Central Heights next Thursday to finish up the regular season. Football had a great late comeback win to clinch the 8 man league championship. They play at Manhattan next Thursday for the last game of the season. Way to go Vikings!

Viking Family....USD 330 students were dismissed at normal time (3:30) today. There are no anticipated transportation delays. GO VIKINGS!

Viking Family----Due to a non-school related truck accident on Mission Valley Rd we are anticipating a delay in releasing students this afternoon. Emergency medical personnel will be using the large grass area on the East side of the school to land LIfe Star. The use of Mission Valley Rd may be limited until the accident scene is cleared. All students and staff are safe as this has been reported as a non-school related accident. USD 330 Mission Valley will update you with additional information as necessary. JH football and volleyball take on Chase County today. 8th grade recognition for volleyball will take place after the first matches (A and B). 8th grade recognition for football will be at 6:15 before the game. Go Vikings!

Powder Puff Football game under the lights tonight!

Fall Sports Picture flyers have been sent home with your athlete. Please ask them for the form if you'd like to order fall sports pictures. The flyer contains tips about the new online ordering system on one side, and the web address and athlete access code to order on the other side. Ordering by Wednesday, October 11, saves you shipping charges. Please contact Mrs. Durkin with any questions or concerns.

Special Announcement! Mission Valley High School is proud to announce that we will be receiving #AFFlover from the United States Air Force, 190th Air Refueling Wing, Kansas Air National Guard this Friday night at 648pm on the Oberhelman Family Field! The aircraft will be the KC-135 flown by Mission Valley alumni Colonel Marjie Norton! We would like to thank all of our service men and women for what they have given to our county throughout their careers. VIKING Family---When you are at the Homecoming festivities tonight please take a moment to admire the new signage. Don't forget that tonight's activities kick-off at 5:30 tonight with multiple food trucks selling delicious food and drinks, as well as the FFA KICK competition. At 6:00 p.m. the 5th/6th Grade football team will face off vs Osage City, followed by the PK-6th Red Wagon Parade, Pep Rally, and Powder Puff football game. Following Powder Puff football the evening will conclude with the Homecoming Bonfire as the Vikings prepare to defeat the Bears from Oskaloosa on Friday Night. Congratulations to this year's Fall Homecoming candidates! King candidates are Preston Bolte, Dagan Murray, Johnavin Robinson, and Gabe Willard. Queen candidates are Olivia Bassett, Halle Johnson, Carlie VanMeter, and Kailey Weissbeck. Mission Valley's homecoming football game will be Friday, October 6th against the Oskaloosa Bears. Kickoff is at 7 pm, with crowning during half-time.

Viking Family----The new all-weather track is nearing completion today as crews installed the final layers of material and are now wrapping up the painting process. The sod has been installed on the softball/baseball fields. Workers at the CTE Addition and Vocational Ag building are installing new metal exterior siding, hanging sheet rock for the new classroom walls, and working on the final infrastructure projects. A special shout-out to BHS Construction, HTK Architects and all the sub-contractors (Jadwin, McElroys, Mid-West Coating, Henderson Fence, Kolde Concrete, United Sports, etc..) for their excellent work on keeping this project moving. Also, THANKS to all the USD 330 Mission Valley staff, parents, and students for your adaptability, flexibility and cooperation in adjusting schedules and routines to make sure that construction progress continues to move forward. Happy Friday Viking Country! Here we have some excited freshman in english class stuying for a test, Biology class discussing the reproductive system, JH FACS class learning how to sew a pillow, JH students learning about conflict resolution with Mr. Hancock, our staff dressed up promoting a costume derby race, these pencils were given to each teacher courtesy of our Ag Mechanics class, and lastly some updated pictures of the sports complex.
